With regular practice, meditation cultivates a more expansive sense of ourselves, and allows us to observe our thoughts and feelings without attachment or judgment. From this space of higher awareness, we can gradually transform our negative thought patterns and emotional imbalances, replacing them with positivity, clarity, and joy.
Meditation is turning within to our inner world and being immersed in our true Self. It means contacting the source of our being and being replenished. This is also the goal of yoga.
The sage and authority on yoga and meditation Patanjali defines it as stilling the mind, but most especially it means calming our negative emotions and agitated states of mind.
In meditation we experience the peace of deep sleep with the aliveness of the waking state. By focusing within with mindfulness, we discover what is happening inside us and learn to uplift ourselves.
As we meditate, we naturally calm our mind and expand our awareness. Meditation helps us to access our true potential and get in touch with our own divinity.
Swami Shankarananda
Mantra is one of the most simple and effective methods of meditation, which has been used in all traditions. The purpose of mantra repetition is to calm and protect our minds. We repeat a simple sacred phrase, giving our mind something simple to focus on.
The effects of mantra meditation are to calm our busy agitated mind and emotions, bringing us to peace. Mantra also energises and uplifts us, connects us with the divine energy it carries, and takes us into meditation.
There is a powerful connection between our breathing and our state of mind. When we focus on the breath, it calms our mind and emotions, and brings us to a state of deep inner stillness. The breath is always with us, so this is an easy and nourishing method we can use anywhere.
Hamsa Breath meditation is one of the main methods given in Tantra yoga, and it connects us not only to our own life force, but also brings us to a state of oneness with all of life.
In Self-inquiry, we turn within, inquire and discover what is so. We find where our energy and being are blocked, and uncover ways of releasing tension to uplift our state. We tap into our own wisdom and learn how to expand our awareness.
Self-inquiry teaches us how to bring the benefits of our meditation and yoga practice into every area of our life. As we unblock the anger, fear and sadness we carry, we're able to live our life more joyfully and creatively, filled with energy and inspiration.

The best way to learn to meditate is with an experienced meditation teacher. I've been practicing and studying for over 20 years, and I meditate every day.
I absolutely love to share the teachings and watch you awaken and grow. It is at the heart and soul of yoga, and a daily meditation practice is guaranteed to bear fruit.
Self-inquiry coaching can be a magical experience and is so effective at giving you a direct experience of relief and upliftment, which then positively impacts your life.

Snippets of yogic philosophy
I have to tell you that the classes are absolutely phenomenal. They’re just so to the point and very helpful… I have been going through the sessions and enjoying them very much.
Humbly, your understanding of deep sacred text and being able to convey it to us in a intelligible and straightforward manner is enormously impactful.

I found Turiyananda’s classes to be extremely restorative and full of spiritual energy. He is an authentic teacher who embodies the meditative path: he is gentle, inclusive, non-judgemental, and responsive to his students. Each week he brought new teachings for us to explore, and I always felt the benefit of his classes in helping me to reach a calm centre within myself.

Turiyananda teaches with a humility and efficacy that is rare and valuable. I have attended his meditation course and worked one on one with him over the years and have found it to be a rejuvenating, inspiring and profound experience. I would recommend Turiyaji to anyone who is looking for a gentle and compassionate guide to their best self.
